Biography:

Born June 20,1975 native of Coatesville, Pa. Child of Deborah R. (Turner)Cooper and the late William W. Cooper Sr., with three brothers and two sisters. She found her home in Lancaster, Pa after spending four years in the US Navy.

She received Jesus as her Savior at the age of nine, at Mount Zion AME Church in Atglen where her Godmother Sarah Jones took her regularly. Sarah made sure that she lived up to her title as Godmother and would not let her grow up without knowing the Word and having a song in her heart.

After moving to Lancaster and hearing Pastor Butcher officiate a marriage ceremony, she felt the tugging on her heart to make the church he pastored her home. She made Bright Side Baptist Church her home in 2002. She immediately got to work for the Lord in service as a Trustee and serving on Youth Ministry.  Currently she teaches new members, youth Sunday school, adult Sunday school, serves on the Deaconess Board, Discipleship Ministry and is Co-leader of Prayer Ministry.

April 2013, she answered the call into the ministry under the supervision of Louis A. Butcher Jr. and preached her initial sermon on March 15,2015.

Minister Thomas is married to her best friend and physical soul mate Deacon Maurice L. Thomas and together they share three children; sons Elijah and Abijah and daughter Marriah.

Susin constantly looks back into her memory bank of her life, teary eyed and thankful…she can see the hand of God working in her and on her every step of the way!  She could not see it then with her physical eyes but she trusted and believed that HE would always work it out!  She is not a fan but truly on the team of God!  #teamitrustGOD
